Transmission / Overdrive: T-86 with O/D seal replacement

Has anyone replaced the rear O/D seal without removing the transmission in a wagonaire? It has the 'X'
member and at first glance would seem to be very difficult to pull off.....ideas...tricks....magic

I don't know the answer, but find it hard to believe nobody else does on this NG. Since you are talking about a problem in particular with Wagonaire and 'X' frame Studes, maybe if you change the title of the post to mention Wagonaire you might get an answer. Seems like several folks have talked about experience with 'X' frames on here, so surely somebody has been there-done that with the rear seal. If not, I guess you can break new ground for us, and let us know what you experience
