You might start here - what ever is left over can be posted elsewhere. Others who have experience selling online will probably chime in with their experiences.

Son of a Master Mechanic... listing Studebaker of my elder Sisters for sale. (Sister not tech savvy). Request your input as to best free online site to list car for sale. Are there specialized sites, or use Ebay, Craigs List? Any guidance appreciated!!!

Welcome

You can post on a lot of free sites, like here and craigslist, etc.) but in the long run the best exposure you will get is Ebay. It costs some money but the exposure in much greater and vehicles usually sell for more money there.

The secret is to build a good ad with a lot of pictures, use a low starting amount but have a reserve you can live with to sell the car. Under no circumstances should you list without a reserve as the car will sell at the highest bid which may be well short of your selling price.

I've included an Ebay ad by Matt Burnette (mbstude) on the forum to show what a great ad looks like. Heck, you may want to contact Matt and see if he'll list it for a fee.

This is what helps sell a vehicle. I've sold on both Ebay and Craigslist but have had the best luck on Ebay.

Welcome!
You can list it here or on C/L for free. EBay is not free, but may get you the best price (depends on car, condition, price expected, location). If you do go with eBay, give a good honest description and start the bidding with a low price and have a reserve that you can live with.

Note that Bob and I, both heavy posters here, posted at the exact same minute with VERY similar input/suggestions.

Posting it here for free is obviously going to receive the quickest feedback. WE ARE GOING TO REQUEST PHOTOS! Ultimately, if you want to reach the largest number of Studebaker enthusiasts, you will need to place an ad in TURNING WHEELS, the monthly publication of the Studebaker Drivers Club. The ad is free to SDC members and nominally charged for non members. Of course, this is not an auction site. You would need to determine and post your acceptable offer.

You can also place a free "for sale" ad in the North Star Wheel...newsletter of the North Star Chapter SDC. You don't have to be a chapter member but we'd sure love to have you! You can email the newsletter editor from our website, www.northstarwheel.com.

The disadvantage you have with a free site is the price itself. Too little & you could have done better, too much & you'll still own it. At least on E-bay you can set a reserve at what you expect to get out of it & everything over that is gravy. What do you have? A 4 door deluxe Lark wont command the price of an Avanti engined convertible. As has already been said pictures are key.

I surprised no one has mentioned the Studebaker Swap Page http://www.studebakerswap.com/swap/swap.php Its a free listing!

What type of Studebaker do you have for sale?

Baxter MN? That's only about 50 miles away from me. If it's a 1963 or 1964 model, I will have to come look at it. :)

I just looked at your profile page and found photos of a 1956 Champion two door sedan in excellent looking condition. Is that the car for sale?
