  • Built a model of the '53

I've been keeping busy lately on a project I haven't talked much about. At the IM I bought a damaged Highway 61 '51 Champion for $10 with the intention of turning it into a somewhat precision model of my '53 Commander prototye. It took a lot of work sanding, cutting, fitting, gluing, refitting, making custom parts, etc. But I think it turned out fairly nice. To see the build process, click on the link. http://tscc-online.lefora.com/2012/1...-53-prototype/

Nice job Chris. You should have been a car designer. When I was your age and younger, I used to build a lot of car models (planes too). Now I'm 75 and getting back into modeling. I have a '53 Starliner model and an Avanti model to build. It's fun to get back into modeling autos again.

Chris, I forgot to mention above that I wanted to thank you for the informative tour you gave me, and a number of other Studebaker owners, of the Studebaker International facility in South Bend during the International Meet. I had no idea of the historical nature of the building.
