  • 1927 Big Six

    Hi All,

Just arrived home from our monthly meeting and one of the members has a 1927 Big Six (think it's 1927) that he needs lots of parts for. Unfortunately he's not on the net and there don't appear to be much in the way of parts etc down here. Has anyone got any advice I can give him next month?

From his description it doesn't have a roof and the rear has been cut off for a tray body as was commonly done with old farm vehicles.

Even literature like manuals would be valuable.

    Thanking you in anticipation

    John,
Check out the Antique Studebaker Club website. There is a fellow advertising 1925-27 Big and Special Six parts for sale.

What he needs is our 27, Engine is done and also the frame is painted, and the brakes gone through, new tires 10 years ago, no miles on them. needs interior, and the body painted, and oh yeah needs a roof. The chicken wire is still in great shape. ( is this to keep the chickens out or in?)
NO RUST any where, and will start on 2nd or third turn over. This was the last year of no fuel pump, and the first year for front brakes. Wood steering wheel like new.
        Ebon...

Just been to that site - what a mess of old information, doesn't seem to be up to date, let alone indicate where ads are to be found.

                    John,

Take another run at the ASC site - www.theantiquestudebakerclub.com -once you are in, on the left side at the bottom you will find The Antique Automobile Club of America Studebaker Forum. Click on that and a picture of a 1915-17 roadster comes up. Click on that and you should be in the ASC forum. The ad is near the bottom of the first page, the posters name is Montrose and it was posted on August 4th, or about 2 weeks ago.

                    Terry
PS I agree with you though, the ASC site is not nearly as up to date as the SDC site.
