Edsel dealerships were typically limited and relatively high volume dealerships. At the same time, Studebaker dealerships were mostly very small locations selling only a few cars. This brings the average sales per dealership down for Studebaker. The total number of sales would be the only measure that is important now.
Related fact - Crown Victorias now make up less than half of the New York City taxi fleet (medalian cabs, not gypsy or livery), but are still number one (this will change rapidly as there is an age restriction on NYC taxis).Gary L.

Of the 13,172 NYC taxis, 5454 are now Crown Victorias. There are now 18 different types of NYC taxi.Gary L.
