  • R.I.P. Oliver Yanko~ WW2 Vet, Avanti owner (x2)

Yes- I know where this ought to go, but given the number of folks who have meet Oliver in the last several years,
please let this thread live here for a few days. (I have already posted in the proper Forum as well) Thank you folks.

Oliver Yanko, a WW2 Veteran, loooong time Studebaker owner,
and Whatcom County SDC member passed away in his sleep Saturday Night.

There will be a celebration of Oliver's life at the Bell's Studebaker Museum and Diner Tuesday December 4th starting at 1PM.

PLEASE R.S.V.P. no later then Monday Night at 360 7380103.

Here is Oliver at the Bell's place during their 2010 Open House~

    Thanks for the pic Craig!!!

As you may recall Oliver bought a '63 Avanti before many dealers even had one in their showrooms.
His was one of the first ten made, and it was his daily driver until he bought another in 2001.
Here is an old thread about he and Dylan meeting up at our Annual Show three years ago~

I hope to post more of Oliver's amazing life a bit later.

R.I.P. Oliver- we miss you already.

I remember him sitting there that day, he had a great time talking to people, Lionel Stone was also there, had a nice long talk with him.

More Details on the Obit Forum

I am very sorry to hear of Stephanie and James Bell's close Friend Oliver Yanko's passing. He was a good friend and a sharp minded gentleman to all of us in the Whatcom County Chapter of SDC.

I find that it is difficult to find the Obituary Forum because you have to click on the "Forum" button on the top of the page on the light Blue Bar to find it.

So here is the link to the Obit Forum where more info is posted:
