Ikon has a new Dodge based retro-look truck. Not the worst look, but it could have been way better. Why not Studebaker?

Why not Studebaker? - Because there is not a market for $200,000 Studebaker trucks. You put up the $200K and they will build it. Note that this Dodge is financed by a private individual and they will build more if there is a demand (and payment).

My father had one of those '65 Dodge crew cabs

He beat the crap out of that thing for over ten years. I've often wondered what he did with it but I never remembered to ask him whenever we'd seen each other since then. It sure could take a beating.

At the prices ICON wants, even if they did do a Studebaker, none of us would get one. :)

True, but on the other hand, if they'd gone with a Studebaker they would not have had to get any permission or any of that stuff from Dodge.

Interesting concept, but in my opinion that era of Dodge pickup is far from my favorite. Now the Bronco.....well the $200,000 prevents that too.

I have a 08 Dodge meg-a-cab with the 5.7 Hemi and would never buy one that looked like that, never liked them then and no reason to like them now.

Ugh, what an ugly concept. They need to stick with the 50s trucks for inspiration...

I believe the cable show Trucks on the Spike network had a series of shows where they took a 70's Ford & placed the cab & bed sheet metal onto a newer Dodge diesel pickup frame & running gear. Alot of work & modification but on that one the final result looked really good. My thought was if one did the same to a Studebaker C series, not only would you have modern running gear but with the vin on the cab, register is as a Studebaker & you wouldnt have to have it smogged!
