Our friend Diego Rosenberg, as I've mentioned earlier, is the Official Announcer at The Pure Stock Musclecar Drag Race, and a helluva nice guy. He is also an accurate automotive writer and enthusiast who pens a column for an internet entity entitled Muscle Car Examiner.

He found a 1957 Studebaker Scotsman 2-door in the course of reporting this year's Hershey event, and gave it a nice photo and write-up in Part III of his MCE Hershey Report.

Thanks, Diego. :!: BPhttp://www.examiner.com/slideshow/fall-hershey-2012-part-iii#slide=54341856

I saw the car in the car corral in Hershey. Took a look at it but owner not around. It apppeared to be in very good shape and had a great interior in it. I was surprised to see a Scotsman there. This is the first one I have seen in the corral im many many years.

I love it! Can't remember - should the '57s have the Studebaker script on the left rear fender?

'Don't think so, Bob; added for 1958. BP

I believe I saw the Scotsman in South Bend. The car I saw wasn't on the show field, but nearer the flea market buildings under a tree with some other Studes. It was a nice looking car.

I too saw it at South Bend. The comment was made about what a great sleeper it would be with certain modifications.

One of those Scotsman didn't have vent doors on the front fender. I had one here for a while that didn't have one.

Saw it on the main drag going north on Wednesday afternoon. It was puffing a little smoke, but that just means it was not too low on oil... Saw it some hours later parked at the "Hardees" next to the Micro-suite.

While all the newer stuff were driving around with their windows sealed shut, the three people in the Scotsman had every window open and the wind-wings cranked up on high.

At first I though that Scottsman was a retired/restored Michigan State Police vehicle; even the color is close to their Royal Blue color----------then I saw the Michigan license plate and went 'dayum'! :D

I realize this would be very wrong, (I think), but this blue Scotsman 2dr. seems to be begging for a '57 Golden Hawk supercharged engine, T-85 OD trans, and 4.27 type 44 rear with TT!!!

To: nwi-region-rat,-----I can picture duals out the back with performance (but not real loud) mufflers, and a set of good traction bars. Anything not really needed inside (Heater, Radio, Etc. would be
history....Studebaker already helped with that...I believe these things came with only one sunvisor!) HD springs front and rear, 'proper' tires, and a brake upgrade.

Then you may want to be on the lookout for one of these: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/showthread.php?10100-1957-President-2-door-aplenty&highlight=marshal

(Hopefully RQ can repost the pictures of them again)

I think Dad (StudeRich) managed to catch a pic of this car, the '58 Scotsman, AND the '58 Champion that were at South Bend last June. All three are two door sedans. :!:

When I have time I'll have to look over the 300+ pics he took and post it here.

You guys are (sorta) describing the plans I have for my '57 Champion Custom.
She's a 'baby step' above a Scotsman~

I have too many Studes, too little time, and NO MONEY-
so I'm open to offers if anyone is interested... ;)

another idea.....get an extra pair of tail lights.....cut out the reverse light section, mount it on top so the upper third is a turn signal...with amber lenz...center red and bottom white......
