Is there any difference in the spacing between the front mount bolt holes on the motor to the rear bolt holes on the bell housing? I have a '61 Hawk with O/D. It has a trans and I think bell housing from a '57 Hawk (short tail hsng). I am changing the front motor mounts and the studs appear to be about 1" behind the holes in the frame mounts. Can the rear crossmember be installed backwards? And would this account for the problem? What else could cause this? =Jim

The rear mount on the trans bell housing has offset studs. They're not in line with the bolt holes where it bolts to the bell housing. Flip it around.(180 degrees).

Thank you, I thought it was something like that. It's been that way since the motor was rebuilt, about 4k miles ago. I bought that way a couple of years ago. Thanks again. -Jim
