My granddaughter came down from Iowa for the weekend to attend a car show in Memphis, MO. She wanted to get the trophy. I told her she would have that she would have to clean the car and get it ready for judging and she could have what ever trophy she won. She worked and worked on the '57 Hawk, asking me questions about cleaning and what judges look for. As the announcement of the awards approached she told me that she was nervous, and didn't know what to say in her speech when she accepted the award. I just told her to say, "Thank you", but remember there are only three cars in our class that will get an award and you may not get an award. She was excited, when her name was called and she went up to get the trophy. She told me on the way home that, "This experience has changed her life." She wants to come back to grandpa's and do this every year. She is only seven years old. I think I created a monster.
