  • Engine swaps

Cortica37's tech talk thread questioning why there are few FMC engines used in engine swaps started me thinking(dangerous!).[}] What is the most unusual engine swap you have ever seen? The one I've seen was a 32 Ford roadster with a 32 Cadillac V12 engine/trans shoehorned into the engine room.

PS There is a 37 CE in my neighbourhood which has a Ford 289/C4 in it.

Probably a 327 Chevy in a VW Beetle.

At the POCI show in Anaheim a few years back I saw a Pontiac 389 stuffed into a '61 Champ pickup... Lemme tell you, that engine bay was FULL.

A guy in my SDC Chapter loves V6's. We went by his place yesterday and he was showing us his cars. He has a mid 80's Toyota pickup with a Cadillac V6 in it with a Thermoquad 4 barrel on it. [:0]

Another one that I remember my grandad telling me about was a '57 Silver Hawk with engine/trans/sub frame from a Chrysler K car. (Front wheel drive 4 cylinder. [V][xx(])

Off the top of my head there was one that had shown up at our orphan car show a coupla years back:
A Fiero with an LS6 in the back. Looked like a very nice shop vehicle even though you couldn't change the plugs.
The Nash Metro with what I remember to be a 502 stuffed in the front, or as he called it The Metrinator. There's more than one way to make the History Channel and if I remember from the show he could barely keep the car straight on the strip.

The Chrysler K car I hope he had one of the turbocharged four cylinders. Thats too little engine for too much car .

How about a 52 C**v Pickup with a Stude V8 in it. Now that makes sense!
