  • Cool/Heat: Heater block off

Did Studebaker make/use a flat block off plate on the rear of the right head to block off the coolant if no heater/defroster was installed?

I was expecting to find some threaded fittings that I could cap or plug. But that fitting is one piece cast with a nipple on the end. The previous owner had a short piece of hose with a plug clamped in. Is that about the best I can do? At least the water pump had a threaded fitting I can replace with a plug.

To; 3rd Gen Stude,------- There should be a flat block-off plate at the rear of the right cylinder head whether the car has a heater or not. If You can't find one, just make a paper template, (or use a water outlet gasket),
and fab one out of 1/8" flat stock.

Ones with the hole for a car with air, they needed to move the one hose outlets where the a/c unit sat up front.
