  • Intake Manifold Color?

Planning on painting the intake manifold next weekend on my 64 daytona - V8 Any idea what color it should be? My dad (original owner) thought it was silver but in south bend i thought the simimar larks I looked at were black. Any thoughts? Right now the color is rust brown and needs to be blasted..

    Thanks

In '64 the entire engine was gloss black (block, heads, intake, water manifold, etc. The valve covers were yellow. The fan blades, dip stick top, and oil breathers were red.

Would it make a difference if this was a Canadian car?

NO! The silver engines and intakes were used on 1958-1960 and because there were so many '59-'60 Larks built and parted out, there are lots of those intakes around.
