Yeah Craig, it's definitely the BIGGEST Stude. on the property, but it is one of a kind!

The 259 it has will make it a lot more drivable than the 245 6 Cyl. it used to have. They had a lot of torque and adequate power but didn't like to rev much.

It is a Housecar, but I like that it still looks like a Schoolbus.

    Dave calls it his Studebus!

We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

With that you and 25 of your best friends could go to South Bend together.

No worries Craig. I'm glad you finally got to see her and those '65s and '66s you've been wanting to see for ever. Not to mention your own ride which is resting peacefully.

Beware folks- Craig took many many pictures!!!

Well, when she was new she had seating for 48.
But now things are a bit 'different' inside~

That's a CA personalized plate. When installed on trucks, it becomes a commercial plate, unless the truck has a permanent installed camper.

Dunno if a privately owned bus would be considered a commercial vehicle or if it's subject to expensive to register CA weight fees.

Ya should rename it "Cool Bus". The side stop arms could be used to trigger a song every time it's activated! (Stop in the Name of Love)!

This is way better, don't you think?

I don't have the paperwork in front of me, but I do know that Nelly was/is registered as either an RV, or a housecar. She gave up that personal plate when I transferred her into my name. DMV didn't ask me for her weight, but I know she was just shy of 8900 pounds as delivered to me. (a.k.a. 'empty')
Her annual CA renewal fees are around $80 for the generic plate she has now.
But very soon she'll be sportin' plates from another State...

But using a name like 'Cool Bus' would be too much like using any other overused name in the classic car World. Too many busses have that painted on them somewhere. I refuse to be like everyone else and do the same. Sorry Brad. Besides- I will likely have to remove the sign for fear of a ticket and or it's theft.
                          It's vintage.
