Ammeter, oil pressure, temperature and gas gauges for a C Hawk, and I'm guessing at least 1957-1961 are all the same. Can't locate one of my parts books for the moment so don't know if 57 & 58 (56?) are same as the 59-61 parts. Don't have to be NOS or perfect, just working used is fine, and hoping to pick them up at South Bend in July. Any suggestions on sources? I'd need the whole gauge bezel and all, not just the innards, as I want to do the gauge changeover in one of my 57 sedans, instead of the idiot lights. A 57 wagon owned by StudeRich? StudeDave? gave me the inspiration. Maybe a modern set of gauges instead that would fit in and "look right"? Ideas or offers?

A set of modern Stewart Warner gauges have the same dias. as Hawk gauges. Finding a nice set of Studebaker gauges is tough. I looked for a set on the fourm to put in my Model A but nothing showed. I bought a set from Speedway, but several other shops have them.

"Betsy" I had forgotten her name, although I saved the picture. I really dislike the 57 idiot lights, and in one car, two separate ones have broken down (not the senders or the lights) I'm going to check out the Stewart Warner gauges online, although I bet the prices are different here. I really prefer the vintage "white on black background" look of the OEM Studebaker ones, including the font style Studebaker use (simple, readable, understated) to black on white background ones.Last edited by Jim B PEI; 06-14-2012, 04:28 PM.

I know Brent Hagen has rebuilt fuel gauges, he may have othe types of gauges as well. I just installed it in my 61 Hawk a couple of weekends ago. Looks and works great! You can find him in the vendor listings on the SDC website.sigpic
