To: mbstude,----- Yes, Indy car owner Lindsey Hopkins financed a Studebaker V8 based Indy engine of 270 cubic inches in 1956. The engine was set up by ace mechanic Willy Utzman. It failed to reach the
power levels needed at the time, and no attempt was made to qualify it.
