My wife and I took our car to a open car show in Indianapolis today, we competed against 80 other cars from Ford model A's to Mustang 2007 Salons and Trucks of the same year.

When the day ended the Studebaker (1956 Golden Hawk) was "Best of Show".

I couldn't be more proud of the car attracting both youth and people who remember the car. We need to keep these cars in front of the public.

The runner up............ a 440 six pack Dodge Charger......:D

Sorry folks, and thanks Guido:

My point is not to "toot my horn", if you want Studebaker to be recognized it wont happen in "YOUR" garage. Get the car out and let folks enjoy the beauty and the memories....

Way to go, Joe!!! You make us all proud:D

And yes, couldn't agree more, these cars should be in front of the public ...like maybe in a publicly accessible (vs. private collector’s) "HAWK" Museum somewhere.

SWEET![:p] Such a deal! Congrats Joe! Yes, I've been saying for EONS that these cars need to be driven so that they can be seen.;)

Under a car cover, hiding out in your garage proves nothing. Doesn't matter HOW PRETTY it might be.[^]

Matt:

We sure would like to make your Georgia Meet but it seems gas has went over the top again and I have not located an enclosed trailer at the dollar I am willing to pay. So, much to our regret we will not be in Georgia this year. The biggest thing is I will not put the car on an open trailer again, I am still chasing dirt and grime from 3 hours of rain on the way home from South Bend.

I'm going to make the Seymour Show on August 11, sounds like a good time!

Yes I have sent new pics in for TW....

I'd also ask that anyone who has the weekend free on 9/20/07 and are near Indianapolis, bring your Studebaker to the Hoosier Auto Show. It is at the Marion County Fairgrounds and you can't cover the swap meet in two days of walking.

Generally, there is maybe three Studes there on display or judging.
