For those of you who watch PAWN STARS on the HISTORY channel....I was on vacation in Nevada and visited the three History channel places, Pawn Stars Pawn shop, Rick's Restoration (American Restoration) and the Clark County Museum which is where one of the experts of the pawn show comes in from to evaluate stuff. So going there I didn't know what to expect. They have several relocated buildings depicting Nevada and the Las Vegas area....at one house in the car port is this nice little lark, It was roped off, so all I could get was this picture.

Looks to be a Studebaker dealer license plate frame on the nice little Lark.

Tell us what you thought about on different locations you went to. I have thought about making the same trip to the same locations.

We were in Vegas a couple years ago, stopped in at the Pawn Stars (mother in law kept calling it "Porn Stars") <G> The old man is as funny in person, and does NOT care what he says! You'll like it.

That plate frame is for a Fresno dealer - I can read Frank J San..... Probably a used car lot methinks. Anne might be able to confirm or deny. Slavich Bros. was the last Stude dealer in Fresno. Somewhere along the way they overlapped another Fresno dealer - Tex Hodge. Slavich Bros. kept selling Mercedes after Stude quit.
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

I was in Vegas last week. Stopped first at Rick's Restorations. Rick and a couple of the others were there talking to people. A girl gives about a 10 minute tour where you can look in the various shops where each has its function. Several of the items that I have seen restored on TV were in the display room. The pawn shop had a lot of high priced items for sale. Didn't see any of the folks on TV there. Best time is at Shelby American out by the Las Vegas speedway. The free tour is at 10:30am and takes about an hour. They take you around the museum first and then into the first shop where they are building Cobras. The next area they are modifing Mustangs. Well worth your time. They talked about Carrol but didn't really have much as far as a triute.

The clarke county museum was nice enough to visit. The admission was much lower than they could be....I would have gladly paid a few bucks more. The Displays were nice, the town setting was very cool, and you can see where there is a lot of room for expansion. It's only about 15 minutes away from Henderson...or about 30 minutes from the strip....either way, worth the trip to see the place.

Again, sorry I'm late to the party on this. Been away on vacation. The name is Frank J. Sanders. Sold new cars for about forever in Fresno, I think over 50 years. Sorry, I wasn't born here so I don't remember the complete history. Think he had the Lincoln/Mercury dealership. Then just did leasing. He died a few years ago.
