  • Clueless Guy Inherited 1965 Studebaker Cruiser...Looking to sell?

The link above is for the Craigslist posting that contains the pictures of the car.

I recently became owner to a beautiful cherry-red Studebaker Cruiser which I drove home on Saturday May 12, 2012. It came with a binder of receipts from all the garages it visited to get re-upholstered, engine work etc. (over $10,000 worth)It was a collector car and was insured as such for the last 23 years, so one of you fellas must have seen it before. I was initially thrilled to get it and continue the legacy, however, I lack the knowledge, skills, time and resources to do such. I also have no garage to house it in and I don't believe that such a beautifully maintained car should deteriorate outside. Thankfully it hasn't rained since I got it.

It has the 'Thunderbolt 285' engine in it, and EVERYTHING functions and works. As well it came with extra duplicate parts including (over$1000):

New, complete driver+passenger(front and rear) floor boards
    New ignition
    Chrome window wipers
    Points and point setting gauge
    Spark plugs
    Headlight bulbs
    Master solenoid/circuit box
    Cooling fan prop
Various other miscellaneous parts and replacement fluids
Full size white-walled spare tire (in trunk)

I am thinking to take it to the Adesa auction to have it appraised and sold, but I thought I would give the people who know the most about it a swing at it first. I believe my asking price of $6500 is very reasonable but I will be open to offers.

You can see the pictures and feel free to call me at 604-313-5428. I live in Coquitlam, BC. That's close to Vancouver if you're not familiar with the city.

Yes, it is a nice looking Cruiser. I am sure there must be a BC Coastal Chapter member nearby that could give this one a closer inspection!

Didn't the 65s have the stainless strip along the rocker panels?

64 Cruisers did as well. Was it just a Crusier thing?
