  • Drive Shaft: Drive shaft 16 teeth

I have a 16 teeth drive shaft which I presume to be for a 4 speed transmission am I correct?
Since I don't use 4 speed transmissions I want to sell it.

I tried to find out from the manual how to measure the drive shaft or propeller shafts lengths. I could not find that information.

I then measured from the inside of the hole to the inside of the hole where the
    U joints go into.

    I got approximately 56 5/8".

That leads me to bolive that is for four door sedans with 27 rear axles.
Am I in the ballpark and what is it worth?

    Thanks
    Paul

Measure from center to center of the U joints on the driveshaft. There were no 4 speeds before 1961, and I know they made them, and they must have been few but a V8 with a 4 speed and model 27 did not last long.

Also, you need to convert your fractions to 32 of an inch in most cases.
