Welcome Reception

Does anyone know what the welcome reception consists of? Will there be real food, or only desserts?
My wife and I have made our hotel reservation and next, we'll register for the meet. I just want to know a couple of specifics, one of which is the welcome reception.

According to the home page of the meet, under "events" the welcome reception is the following:

Monday, July 30, 2012
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Welcome Night - Ice Cream and Birthday Cake Social
Located in the recently renovated Century Center Discovery Ballroom which is conveniently across the street from the Double Tree Hotel. Come renew old friendships and kindle some new ones. Studebaker, food and fellowship...what could be better?

Just looks to be the standard fare of ice cream and cake...........
