I just spotted this myself. This would make someone a nice driver as is. I have an understanding wife - but she's not that understanding. I don't think this will last long.

am I missing something ? I have to say, as a true CASO.......if this car lasts 24 hours more at this price ..the market is never coming back......!

I had one the same color 35 years ago. What is a CASO? Sorry. Harvey

CASO = Cheap A$$ Studebaker Owner.

I'm not sure why the BIN is viewed as such a bargain

Old Car Price Guide lists a #3 57 Golden Hawk at $12,600.

A #3 is (abbreviated)...

VERY GOOD...Completely operable original or older restoration showing wear. From 20' away it may look perfect. In general, most of the vehicles seen at car shows are #3's

Sorry, Harvey: CASO is the acronym for Cheap-A** Studebaker Owner.

It's a term of -ahem- "endearment" attesting to the characteristic frugality of Studebaker enthusiasts. BP

Looks like they pulled the ad. I had saved it to "Favorites", but it will not come up. Its as if it disappeared off ebay.

Joe, it comes up on mine but it comes up as "ended" so it sold and the auction ended.

Maybe it didn't sell. I noticed that it was listed under parts for sale and not cars for sale. Perhaps eBay pulled the listing as incorrectly submitted.

to me it looks as if it was pulled.

on a side note. There is a decent 56J up for sale on ebay right now as well.

FWIW: i bought my '40 from this seller. SDC member and was very accommodating after the sale. :)

apparently, the link is working again and the auction is moved into the "Studebaker" sale category. The buy it now is no longer there and the reserve must have been met. As I type this, there is over 7 hours left for the auction with the current bid at $13,950.00.

The seller has done a good job of describing the vehicle. If you are handy with mechanical, body, and upholstery work...this could be the car of your dreams. If you have to pay someone else to do the work...you'll need to be well-funded and really want the car. Best of luck to the high bidder.

guys, post #1:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1957-57-Studebaker-Golden-Hawk-289-Supercharged-/120879872149?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item1c25007895#ht_500wt_1236

has ended. it appears to have been listed under "car covers". i think i can be safe to ass-u-me it was a bogus ad.

posts #13 & 14:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/STUDEBAKER-GOLDEN-HAWK-3-SPEED-OD-POWER-STEERING-POWER-WINDOWS-/200726770889?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2ebc3f74c9#ht_1363wt_1043

is available for another 7 hours. my post, #14, was just to say that the seller was honest in the condition on my purchase.

that is all... :)
