    Hi Scott,

I sent the guy who posted it a message. Hopefully he'll respond and I'll be able to tell you where it is.

Why does desktopnexus have no Studebakers in their categories?

Well.... I don't know, but at least you can search for them.

I'd hate to see a truck like that just wither away.

I found another picture of this truck! Looks like it's in Arizona. Funny how photographers always know where the neat stuff is.

                    And another!

I guess it's near Jerome, AZ

I would LOVE that truck. A modern Duramax or Cummins powerplant, and trans, or maybe even set that cab on a modern chassis and restore that COOL trailer....I am in.

                          What?

You guys haven't gotten it yet? What are you waiting for? I figured you'd have it by sundown.

SDC needs to form a rescue squadron complete with a kitty that members can donate money to. That way, when stuff like this pops up, the rescue squadron can debate whether it's worthy of preservation and can move on it yesterday. Once they've got it, they can find a member who will do right by it.

Just about every state has a historic preservation committee of some sort. They accept donations and use the donated money to rescue endangered historic properties. Once they've got the property, they resell it to someone at a really decent price with strings attached - namely the outward character of the home can't be changed. Some folks have gotten some really decent properties that way. They were allowed to remodel the interiors to their own liking as long as they kept the exterior the same. Win-win all around.

It should work the same way for American cars; these are, after all, our heritage.

If this rig is where I think it is--
it's already 'being saved' by a museum of sorts.

We have seen/heard of said museum here before.

                              OK,

Now I'm tracking. Still, why not work with the guy to clean that puppy up and stop some of the deterioration.

Discover the Gold King Mine! Family fun and animals too! Why not schedule a gold panning trip or simply wander the grounds and see Arizona history.
