  • Steering: 1956 Steering boxes and columns interchange question

I don't have a 1956 Parts Manual at hand. Were the '56 Hawk standard steering box/column/shaft the same as the '56 President? How about the power steering?

To: PackardV8,----- Nothing definite, but I'd bet money the column tube and steering shaft is longer on the C/K steering. both reg. and p/s

The Saginaw power steering boxes were the same on all models. There is a coupling between the column and box , and indeed the C/K were longer, but just the column and shaft.
