Yes, that is the Fiat. They liked the style so much that they just took it from Studebaker. Naturally Studebaker put a quick end to that when they found out. There is more about this in the book "Bob Bourke's designs for Studebaker".
Note the odd wheel base compared to a normal '53 Studebaker.

And, clearly, it's the father of Wayne Mullin's GT Hawk...

Would be interesting to see one of them show up at a Stude Meet.
Richard, you wouldn't happen to have a photo of the front or rear?

It's on page 124 of Bob Bourke's designs for Studebaker. It looks identical to the '53 Studebaker down to the tri-star. I don't think this car still exists, it was probably destroyed.

Wayne Mullins shortened Gt Hawk is a very interesting car. We see Him driving around this area in it quite often. One of Paul Gunder's creations I believe.

Chris, I see no evidence of a tri-star anywhere on this car so am not sure what you are referring?

In fact I do, both shown above. I knew what it was when I posted it, just seeing if anyone else did (note the Fiat 1100N name plate on front). As you will see neither the front or rear views looks anything like the Studebaker.

Interesting that they grabbed the three-piece rear window, not unlike the 1952 Studebaker Starliner. BP

I love the side sihlouette. The proportions are just perfect. The view from the rear is not as impressive and the front shot is too generic and too Fiat for me. None of it is terrible, but the front and rear do not accentuate the sexy side profile.
