Very nice, that's a beautiful car. I dont recall if i've seen this particular car before but I did see Scott and his Corvette at the Hudson Wisconisn swap meet last fall. Seems like a really nice guy and well deserving of this fine car.

Looks just like my 63 GT,same colour also,alas mine has stock 289 4bbl. & column shift,but I sure don't get any where near 20mpg.

Reading that story, I was struck by the fact that this R-1, 4-speed, disc brake, fully-instrumented GT Hawk - definitely what most of us might think of as a "man's car" - was ordered by a woman! That's fascinating to me. That was a lady I would have liked to have known

I think the Studebaker dealership was desperate to sell that Hawk being that it was the previous years model and them giving her $911 for a 1951 Studebaker sedan which would have been 13 years old at the time.

Having to move gave you a good excuse but you must be settled in by now. I know you are not crazy about the Rose Mist color but I really like it. Betty will look great in that car. Send me a picture of the progress for Hawk Talks. Better get on it Perry - you asked for it!!!!!

Beautiful Gt Hawk! The fuel line from the factory fuel filter-to-carburetor looks odd ( 2nd fuel filter under the air cleaner?)

Jon, i noticed your two Studebaker models and they don't appear to be off the shelf models. Did you build them or what ? As editor for the Toy Studebaker Collectors Club Newsletter , I would be interested in publishing the photos and hopefully you could give me some text to go with photos. I will of course give you full credit. What other stude models to you have
