  • Passing of marg hill, ontario chapter

I've just learned that Marg Hill, wife of Roger Hill, has passed away. The Hills are long time members of the Ontario Chapter and both have taken very active roles in the Studebaker hobby. At this point I do not have any further details.

      Hill, Margaret R.

      1952- 2012

Her physical presence taken suddenly through illness, her magnificent spirit will always be with us in the hearts of her friends and family. Most loving wife and best friend of Roger. Dedicated, giving and loving mother to Graeme (Nicole), and Erin (Marcus Flannery). Bestest "Gramma" to Nathan Hill. She so much enjoyed her activity in the Studebaker Drivers Club and more lately her exiting connection with her special "glambert" friends around the world.

Marg served the Ontario chapter for about 15 years, first by typing every word of our monthly(at the time) Ontario Chapter "Studebanner" newsletter for over 5 years while Roger was editor - even through events such as childbirth and the trials of raising 2 small children! After that she was secretary for a few more years. She was also a long-serving membership secretary and the club grew by leaps and bounds (from about 65 members in 1980 to about 180 by the end of the 80's) in no small part due to her efforts in personal contact. Many new members made a point of meeting her at the "famous" Waterloo Park SDC yearly Summer Meets to tell her that they appreciated her "personal touch".

      We miss her so much.

A celebration of her life, by family and friends, will be held in April on the occassion of her 60th birthday.
