The stainless is heading to my place. Anybody want some Packard Hawk front wheel well mouldings when I get them restored?

I recognize this car now.

It is a canary yellow PH that someone had modified. It had a targa top. A few months ago I'd seen it on the H.A.M.B. message board in a discussion of customizing Conestoga wagons. Some guy had photo-shopped the front of this and pasted it onto the front of a Conestoga wagon as an idea for a rat rod.

It was clean in those photos but the dagmars and end pieces were missing from the front bumper; and, as I said, the top had been modified. It had one of those short black snap-on tops in those photos.

Can't really say I'm that sorry to see it go; it was a real horror story.

Here's a photo of it from the HAMB.

Thanks for posting the picture Chris. It looks like from the doors back there is a lot of good sheet metal to help some owner with a rust bucket to bring it back to life.

Second scary looking '58 Packard Hawk I've seen this week! (April 'Turning Wheels', and now this)

J.D, any word on your new 58?

J.D, any word on your new 58?Mine should be home this week. Body blocked, roof should be in Jewel Beige and firewall in Shadowtone Red, Body shop 2 miles from home. Car coming home for drivetrain and p/s gearbox, then back to shop for frontclip and paint. I was really excited when body shop pointed ou that there was no rust on this car except for some surface rust in the trunk. Reminded me why I went to California to buy it. Ron Daniels owes me a finder's few, along with that black Hawk he's getting from you, I found him 3 others that he bought from the swap page in Kentucky, one of which was a 3 speed. I am excited to get mine finish, but a little jealous on the 3 speed.

I have most the parts to make yours a 3 speed with over drive, T85, bell-housing, fly wheel, and clutch set up might even have peddles and linkage if I look around, any word on Ron's trip out here?

Never mind,

I know those cars. My brother went up to check them out. I passed. Would have been more interested if they were closer but cost to haul them all the way up here would have exceeded what all three are worth in their current condition. He's got another halfway completed inside the garage. He wanted $22K for it. Ron's got a lot of rot work ahead of him.

Thanks but no on the 3 speed conversion. It's going to stay orignial. I think Ron coming out soon for the Hawk, I know he just came back from vacation.

I talked to Ron this morning, he bought all 4 Packard hawks (1 nearly completely redone but needed to be reassembled) and every part that Mark had for the hawks including many nos parts and interior pieces all for 36K. From what Ron told me it was a very good buy.
