A fella in South Bend claimed to have a good used one awhile back. PM me for his contact info if interested in a "used."

Just curious. What would a NOS Hawk gas tank sell for?

If it had to be NOS?
As much as the seller wants to ask for.

Personally, I find making old rusted tanks look and perform like new is too easy to bother spending the time looking for the elusive doubloon.

I too had your wish. But, found out that they just don't seem to exist. So I bought a couple of very nice used ones.

            What is the difference...if any...between a 64 Hawk tank and a 56 Hawk tank?

On the 56 tank the fuel sending unit in the top of the tank is also where the fuel line comes out. On the later models the fuel tank has a nipple on the drivers side front lower portion of tank.

I used Reneu on my 61 tank. It came out nice and is guaranteed for life. I asked them about Ethanol and other modern problems and they guarantee against all of them. This may be better than new. Try this web site: http://gastankrenu.com/

I just sandblasted a tank and have pin holes in the top..........The inside looks new.

jack, you didn't ask me, but i used "por-15" gas tank products on the avanti. i think i got them on ebay, or either the por-15 site...

it took 2 or 3 days for it to "cure".
took 2 or 3 months to get a few drips off the garage concrete...

                      I use Caswell.

If there are larger holes, fill them with Permatex fuel tank repair and then seal with the Caswell.

If the entire top half of the tank is missing, weld in or braze a sheet metal patch, seal seams with the Permatex and coat interior with the Caswell.

There might be a few NOS tanks out there but, good luck hunting. A tank needs to be very far gone to send it to scrap.
