The car was at the International Meet. We had dinner with a couple of the partners. They KNOW what they are doing, and they KNOW how to have fun [8D]

As Dick said, we had dinner and a lengthy discussion with a couple of the principals on Monday night. It seems there are 6 folks involved, but only 4 are Stude guys. The next power plant is scheduled to be a flathead Ford.

                Jeff,

It is just like an old Timberjack, with hydraulic steering. In fact I see a couple of pedals on the floor, left steer and right steer. That lets you get a firm grip on your a** as you rocket down the salt....

Actually, you just follow the force......
and count mile markers as they whiz by. It's all over pretty quick.
The steering column was stock C body stripped of its external mast and hung from the roll bar from a bearing I found at Fleet Farm for tractors. The wheel is a quick disconnect type, and the pedal assembly is almost a bolt in from a Geo Tracker (just made a stiffener plate).
Great meeting you all at the Steak and Ale!
The engine will continue its development in a three-wheeler I'm building to run on LP:

We are looking for a suitable F_rd flathead v-8 to turbo or supercharge, as there are about 5 records we could shoot for if it is in our car, and this would satisfy the two non-Stude guys on our team! (then maybe back to a little Stude v-8.....)
