I would call it butterscotch, and that's sweet.

Very nice ! All that chrome is amazing.
Yet another car that doesn't have the rear fender spears tho,
I allways look for them and they are few and far between.
Anyone know why you don't see them more often ?

          Dean.

The design, so ahead of all others in 1952, required no excess bling.

But they weren't excess on the front ?

                Just seems odd.

Bob, is that a postcard from your collection?

I've been to the Pioneer museum in Murdo twice, 1994 and 2008 and don't remember that car being there either time. They do have several studes and some memorabilia. For anyone not familiar with that museum, Murdo is on I-90 about midway through South Dakota. Quite a "rustic" museum as most of the collection is in "as-found" condition and not displayed in the best of conditions. Many cars are crammed door to door in dark sheds and behind a chainlink fence so hard to see from the aisles.

Having grown up with a '52 Champion, it took me quite a bit of time to polish the chrome on the front. That was my delegated job!

He's got about about every other trim item on there...bumper guards front and rear. I do not recognize the mirrors or the fog lights as stock items.
And I'm pretty sure the color is not stock. Nice though!

That car is and has been part of the Pioneer Auto Museum collection for many years and is usually displayed not far from the front entrance in the better part of the museum. I remember it since it is like the one I used to own.

I love the car, but I wouldn't choose that color. My favorite color on those cars, including the '50 & '51, is powder blue. I'm partial to that because we had a '51 Commander State convertible when I went to college during the '50s. I never grew tired of that color. That's my 2 cents.
