I am about to "downtime" the "Saturday night special" for a few. Changing the rear springs and height a little. Correcting a oil leak, and trying to eliminate a small vibration. I need a driveshaft. (both pieces). 53 Commander 3-speed with overdrive.
I have small dents on my front and rear section. I would like to start out with some good ones. I don't need the center support, but will buy complete. If you think you have one and need the measurements, let me know. I want to have one ready when I "go down" for repairs. If anyone is close, Georgia, South central Tenn., or East Miss, North Fla. , I might just take a little road trip and pick it up. Thanks

Tex, that's for a coupe, correct?

According to chassis catalog, rear shaft could come from any model 4H coupe regardless of transmission type. I have that.
Front shaft part number is particular to 4H and 5H coupes with overdrive. I do not have that.

Personally, I think you would be miles ahead (and save money) by having a driveline shop replace the tubes, using your existing joints; balance it in the process.
Check with some local big truck garages. I'm sure they may know someone in your area who could probably do it practically while you wait.

If I had a measurement I might be able to help- I have a few front (and rear) shafts here, but have no idea where/what they came from. Nor have I taken the time to look them up in the book- yet. I don't plan to 'clean house' until January or later...
