Some of Loewy's personal automotive designs were quite bizarre and even then had some good elements. It's a good thing all the best design elements were in the Avanti and the worst distilled out.
The man did have a fertile mind and knew talent when he saw it for his associates. That he was able to sell so many designs is a testament to his eye for what the customer wanted and would create a positive image for them.
