    It is definitely a '40 and I think a Commander. Used to belong to Tom Shrock.

      There are other differences, but as I said in another thread, the easy way to tell the difference between 1939 and 1940 US cars is that the '39s had bulb and lens headlights and the '40s had sealed beam headlights (like this car).

        I have been to events in Tennessee and North Carolina where a very nice lady has brought a car that looks very much like this one. She displays it without judging. However, I think it would have won its class. Few cars of the era are more elegant.

            I agree that it's a '40 Commander Coupe. It's beautiful nevertheless.
