  • Stainless Avanti frame may be at South Bend Meet

Took the frame off the frame bench for transit to South Bend. Would like to think of the "donut tires" not as spares, but Salt Flat tires. [8D]

If we make it, be sure to come and introduce yourself and your family. Should be located near Fairborn Studebaker (Shameless plug for a friend.) in an air conditioned building.

sigpic 1963 Studebaker Avanti: LS1 motor and T-56 transmission have been moved rearward, set up as a two seat coupe with independent rear suspension. Complex solutions for nonexistant problems.

I had almost ruled out going to SB, but may reconsider now. I've been lurking and admiring your progress on this project for quite some time and would love the chance to see it in person.

      Great work!

Hey PlainBrownR2, should be easy enough to adapt to a Lark body.

I still think that frame is too pretty to be stuck underneith a car where nobody can see it. How about making a clear plexiglas body to go with it? I also notice how clean and neat your shop is...that's something I can only dream of, but I console myself by telling myself a cluttered shop is a shop with character! And actually interesting sometimes if you go rooting through all the stuff to see what pops up.......

We made it to South Bend. Very pleasant drive to the fairgrounds from Ohio.

Looking forward to meeting people this week.

Brought both sets of body mounts, those for the Avanti with hog troughs, and those for those that would have hog troughs removed due to corrosion.
