My supplier was out of stock. Still looking. I would settle for a spring so I can repair mine.

It is pretty hard to believe that South Bend would be out of a rarely ever replaced part as common as that!

Would the part from a '56 coupe fit? I can check a spare door I have stored at my sons this weekend.

Yes, it's a coupe with post. I'll check and see if the handle mechanism and linkage is still on it. I probably won't get there 'til Saturday, will post my findings.
