  • Engine: 57 or is it a 58?

Went to give a friend a hand today on a 58 Pres. The engine # says it's a 57. He says engine is the one that came in the car. Have I heard somewhere before, that this happened? No< I don't have the engine # now. Anyway it's a survivor.

Came with the car could mean when original new or when new owner got it 10 years ago or got it last week, a few years have gone by and one can only wonder how many engines some of the cars have had in the past but saying it came with the car could mean almost any thing, just like the old saying it ran when it was parked, that helps sell one every day.

Well the Turquoise engine enamel on the Heater hoses tells me that someone worked on the '57 Engine and did a rattlecan paint job on it, most of it is now rusted off of the rest of the engine, possibly before installing it in the '58.
