Does any one know what car or truck was represented by the designation 60SX2? Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Where did you get that number? Some of the cars that Stude's engineering dept used were assigned EX prefixed serial numbers. 60S would be a '60 model 6 cylinder serial number prefix. What the X2 would mean, I wouldn't begin to guess - unless maybe you told us what it's off of.

60S would make it a 1960 model 6 cylinder. X2 would denote a particular Engineering vehicle, in this case #2. It may or may not have had a serial number which started as EX.... Not necessarily a prototype, it could be an "engineering mule". IIRC the trucks didn't start with S or V. I have a car that's identified as 63SX1.

I used to have a serial# plate here that came off a '63 Lark type. There was no "63" to the number if I recall right, just an EX prefix with a four-digit number after that.

I think I know what happened to that tag.

It's found a home on a "what if" 1964 Stude. You'll see more on that in the next year or two.
