Can someone please tell me where the serial number plate goes on my 52 Champion sedan? I've had the car since 1959 and about 20 years ago I had thoughts about redoing the body. Serial plate sat in a box in the trunk since then. After much sanding and welding and Bondo I can't even find the holes where it used to be. I know it was the drivers side, but by the hinges or the center door post? The plate is rectangular shaped. A friend of mine has a 52 and his plate is square and is on the hinge post, no help to me.

On the driver's side "B" piller below the latch. This one is on my 52 Statliner.

Your friends 52 was made a bit after yours. The serial plate change happened late in 1952.
Mine was built in October, and also has the more square serial plate on the hinge post.Comment
