I need both lift assemblies, junction block, flexible drive shaft (I don't know if mine works) and both lift floor brackets. My motor seems to work ok. My Chassis Parts Catalog doesn't show any convetible parts. Where can I buy them?

Thanks,

Check with Bob Kaptain (sp) Joliet Studebaker, I bought an NOS motor for my 52 which is the same as a 51. The drive cables are speedo cables and can be made up if needed, but Bob may have them too. I have seen the lifts on eBay and at swap meets, but, mine are good, so I didn't pay too much attention. They are basically a "screw jack" That is powered by the electric motor. which in my opinion, is MUCH better then the hydraulic system in my 62 ragtop!
There may be some that show up at So. Bend. If you are not coming, email me and I'll look for you.

There's my problem, I don't have a body parts catalog. I have a Chassis Parts Catalog and a Shop Manual. Where can I get a Body Parts Catalog?

There's a parts convertible on Ebay at the moment 47 to 52 all had the same mechanism. You may not think the set-up is so great when you see how slowly it works.I speak fron experience as I once owned a 51 Champ rag-top.

I don't know about not working fast! Mine is as fast or faster then my 62 ragtop with a hydraulic system. I keep everything lubed up real good, and the top motor is/was NOS 7 years ago.

Speed won't bother me - I'm in Texas and the top stays down! I just want the car to be complete!

Now there's a man with my own heart! The top stays down most of the time! My wife said I wasted the $$ on my top, as I don't ever put it up! <G>
