  • Fender Skirts at Hershey

You gotta love the AACA Hershey Fall Meet. Where else can you be followed down a row of vendors by a 1908 Buick, what a hoot. In the 25 years we;ve attended this year has the record for best weather, four days of sunny and just about 70 degrees. Lots of evidence of the recent flouds but the grassed parking area was dry.

I scored a set of Fender Skirts for my 55 for $140. They have no rust and just need paint and new rubber.

Does anyone know if all fender skirts were aftermarket or are they in the Studebaker accesory booklet for the C & K models from 53 to 55.

I can probably fashion the rubber gasket from weather-strip stuff but is there a vendor that can furnish the right stuff?

    Thanks, Murray

There both aftermarket and OEM. The orig. skirts are bolt on, not lever like mounted Foxcraft.

I made my rubber molding with a weatherstrip that was flat with a round tubular edge on it-- and sprayed it black with vinyl spray
i just glued it on with weatherstrip adhesive
i also made extensions on the bottom of the skirt corners so that the screws are under the quarter panel instead of on the side

They are in my 1953 Accessory brochure. They are also listed in the 1953 and 1954 Dealer's Accessories Price Lists. For C/K, they are AC2350 at a list price of $20.50 in prime.
