I plan to have the car painted at a local shop but figure to save
a bit by readying it myself for paint. I will check with the shop for their suggestions
but hope some of you forum guys may have experience to share.
Since the body is fiberglas and appears to have been repainted, I assume at least a light sanding
is needed plus a careful cleaning with a wax remover.
Removing the bumpers, script and masking windows would be easy and should
save some shop time.
Were the 63 Avantis painted originally with lacquer or enamel ?
Thanks for help in avoiding problems.
