  • Gus went to the Cam Twisters Car Show

Took Gus to the Cam Twisters Car Show along with the GoldenHawk and a 50 Bulletnose. Of coarse he was the most photographed car there. It was to benifit kids with Autism. There was a Tee shirt printing company there I had them take Gus's picture and had 4 shirts made and an apron. People came over to see him and their kids were wearing tee shirts with Gus's picture on them. They sold well over 20 shirts.
It was a great day what a great way to promote Studebakers.
When he was driven in all in costume the Hot Rodders were shocked like who let him in. It was a blast to see them transform to appreciating him for the upbeat good will that he brings. Enjoy

Was that a brand new Studebaker emblem in Gus' hood?

Have you done a story for Turning Wheels about Gus yet? I don't beleive I've seen it if you have.

Better get to work Anne, Gus is a great ambassador for the club and deserves all the attention he gets....

Anne, You have a real winner in Gus. Something a lot of people identify with and just plain fun. He shows people that you can enjoy Studebakers and classic vehicles without breaking the bank, and spread joy and have fun while you do it.

            Good job!

            Pat

PS, I hope the shiny cars were not jealous

Well I have to say I haven't had a chance to put his new bling on. I think David is saving it. It sure is heart warming to see the response to Gus. Makes you believe again in all that childlike innocence. There is hope for this scary old world yet. I believe!!!

I remembered taking this picture at Glendale last year but I thought it was Gus. Now that I see it again, it is obviously Gus' older brother. I don't know who the little girl was but she was posing in front of "brother Mater" for her mom and I couldn't resist snapping her picture also. I love the look on her face. It tells all...

I thought it was a great picture, I'm glad I finally had an opportunity to share it. Now if someone can tell us who the little girl is, that would be a bonus.

I wonder how many Mater brothers are out there? Anyone know of another?
