  • Speedo / Tach / Gauges: R3 Tach wiring

Ok, so the factory Avanti shop manual doesn't show how to wire the tach when the Prestolite Trans Ignitor electronic ignition is used.
Factory uses the neg side of the coil to trigger.
Prestolite uses the + side to trigger and neg side of coil is grounded.
The points trigger the electronics.....do I hook sender there?

EEEKKK! Now you really have me confused! I bought a complete kit with coil and wireing (and instructions), but it isn't wired like that!
Mine has a blue wire from the heat sink going to the points .
Red wire to ballast resistor, and black wire to + coil.
      - coil is grounded.
This wireing sounds wacky to me, but the instructions were quite clear.
