On my '54 4-door sedan, the windlace was removed when I got it, and I'm trying to determine exactly where the 'fat' part of the windlace is positioned in relation to the door/window frames. To say it another way, how far is the windlace supposed to protrude into the door opening?
Of course, the replacement cloth windlace does not fit correctly.......it needs an extension piece sewn onto it to correctly fit into the windlace tabs. I'm trying to determine exactly how much of an extension piece to add to the windlace to properly position it in the door opening.
Does anyone have some closeup pictures of a '53 thru '55 4-door sedan that shows the windlace positioning in relation to the door frame and door opening? Some pics from the inside with the door closed, and some pics from the outside with the door open would be great........
