  • Speedo / Tach / Gauges: Dead speedo

I finally got my 1962 Lark running and took it around the block (still needs LOTS of work before I put it on the road) but; the speedometer doesn't work. However; I do hear a ticking noise @ the head and the center piece where the needle lives. I'm guessing a defective head unit.

If such is the case; do I have to drop the whole dash ass'y or can I get behind it to remove the head?

Sold my 1962; Studeless at the moment

    Borrowed Bams50's sigline here:

"Do they all not, by mere virtue of having survived as relics of a bygone era, amass a level of respect perhaps not accorded to them when they were new?"

Hi, if it's like my '63 Lark, you go up behind the instrument board and remove the nuts and "legs" holding it in just like an aftermarket gauge. Brian
