On craigslist in S.F. is a very good looking school bus. Something like this in the past has drawn lots of interest. It's even been turned into an RV. Wish list stuff for sure.

The ad says he has "title in hand". But is it the title in the seller's name? Are there any glaring problems with the title (a bungled previous assignment...) that would make it invalid? Be sure to ask the seller to send you a scanned color image of the title (front and back) before you ever purchase any vehicle online. You may even be able to forward the scanned images via e-mail to the DMV in the titling state to make sure there are no issues. They can't release personal informaion (under the Driver's Privacy Protection Act), but they should be able to say, for instance, if that is the current title (and not an previous copy).
Just a bit of advice from someone who works for the "DMV".
