Jim Pepper hospitalized AGAIN. See Post #22

This just in from SNN (Studebaker News Network):

Turning Wheels High-Performance Co-Operator Advisor Jim Pepper passed out during a meeting at work (Harley-Davidsion Engineering) last Wednesday.

'Ambulance to the hospital; diagnosis: Arrhythmia. 'Took about 18 hours to calm his heart rate down from as high as 265! Yipes!

No blockages. He is waiting results of an MRI, currently on blood thinners and two medications to calm his heart. Jim has never been hospitalized before and as most of us know, is in excellent health as to diet, exercise, weight, etc.

'Prayers are solicited for his well-being and guidance for those attending to him. As wife Cindy says, "If you know Jim, he hates sitting still!"

Gah! Having been in the emergency room for Arrhythmia I can tell you it sucks but not nearly as much just about anything else that can put you in there. Hopefully his is like mine (AFib) and easily controlled.

I will add him to my prayer list. Presently, I am operating my recliner while resting up from my trek to the emergency room last night. They say I have a 6mm kidney stone camping out between my right kidney and bladder. I am doped up on some kind of pain and increased "flow" medication with a new task of peeing through a filter funnel and waiting for a urologist's staff to call with an appointment time. (hopefully before another emergency room visit is required)

This kind of information serves to remind us that the "flatness" of cyber communication gives little insight into the real drama of everyday living. From the current weather related hazards to health issues, we never know what folks are facing until someone shares it.

As for "sitting still," I hate it too, but for a several hours yesterday, I couldn't sit still, and was afraid to move at the same time! Hang in there Jim...we are praying for your recovery. Thank you Bob, for letting us know.

Mine is SVT, first occurrence at 53, scary as hell.

Two heart specialists over the years have said that if you can chose a heart problem SVT is a good choice as it will not kill you, just goes fast and will self correct eventually. Medication will control it and it has become less of a problem as I approach 70. It can be controlled by a minor surgey (if there is such a thing on your heart) That removes the cause which is a secondary nerve connection.

Only bring it up to hope Jim's is of a similar type that is more scary than real. If his is similar in nature I'd be happy to talk to him about it.

Bummer, but with an upside.
Having known several people with that condition, there is good treatment available.
Two had pacemakers installed and it made them perk up and run like new.
Downside to a pacemaker is HEI ignition systems.
Some doctors tell you to avoid being near them.
What fun is that?

My prayers are with him. I echo what was said above about it being controlled. If it is the kind that can be solved by the out patient procedure that works well. My spouse had that done last year and it has been fine since then. Jim and Cindy are great folk.

Do you suppose Harley is going to take over and start building Avanti's and it was announced at that meeting?
That could have kicked Jim's heart to 265..... must be a new smaller engine or it would have been up to 289.

Saw Jim last night. He was in good spirits. As mentioned cath lab showed no blockages. Had an MRI. He was scheduled for a procedure right after I left. I think they were going to check his wiring harness for shorts and opens
