Rear end ratio possible- 48 M16 truck

A friend wants to change the axle ratio on his M16. Please advise the possibles to raise the current ratio (not known by me) . Also, what souces for new differential gears ?.

You may try this question over on the Studebaker Truck Talk page. I have heard of folks doing a conversion with a rear axle from a '60's - '70's Dodge motor home (Dana 60 or 70?).
