  • 1951 Pick-up information needed.

I've just returned from an excellent cruise in Thornhill, Ontario where 9 great looking Studebakers were the feature marque. Among those vehicles was a 1951 Studebaker 1/2 ton pick-up. The owner is convinced that the buried serial plate indicates this model is an HR5. Since that's a new one on me, can anyone out there advise if we ever built such a pick-up model? All Studebaker drivers present tonight feel it's a 2R5.

Hamilton Chapter Steve Tournay was photographing all evening. I believe he will have a shot. It's an old original working truck.

The 'H' signifies Canadian production. Serial number for a 1951 should be between HR5-2986 and HR5-4809

Thanks Dwain. I'll pass this information on to the owner, Ron Dawe.
